AWE 2008 - Umbrella

Taken at the Aldermaston AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) protest set up by the CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) fifty years after the original.

The AWE produces Trident missiles (eight times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima) and has cost £76,000,000,000 and its weapons it creates are not only illegal in international law (which both the US and UK has agreed to in theory at least, if not in practice) but also have no tactical use, meaning that the government are in effect pouring money into something that is never used, whilst shortfalls exist in almost every other area of government.
